Education, not intervention

We teach courses in applied psychology, philosophy and feminism for people overcoming a history of substance misuse – the effects of which often include and are magnified by multiple forms of social exclusion including:

  • mental health challenges
  • long term unemployment
  • involvement with the criminal justice system.

We work with an increasingly forgotten generation – people of mixed ages, abilities, races, gender and sexuality whose lives have been affected by drugs and alcohol abuse – to understand the root causes of addiction and place this in a wider context of social inequality.

We facilitate change within individuals through education so that they can transform their lives and relationships with people around them.

Through a combination of theory and practice, participants encounter connection, meaning, the ability to break free from a cycle of dependency and live a life of purpose and agency.
